Alan Brooks, M.D.
Dr. Brooks grew up in Southern California and attended Pomona College and UCLA School of Medicine. He served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant commander in Vietnam, and volunteered to care for civilian Vietnamese during the war as a part of the pacification program. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V". Throughout his medical career he has maintained an interest in the developing world. He has a degree in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School and has traveled widely abroad, teaching medical imaging in Vietnam, Thailand, China, Uzbekistan, Kosovo and parts of Africa. He has been a visiting Professor of Radiology at Chiang Mai University Hospital in Thailand and also at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam.
